Woman assaulted and her car windows smashed in Nottingham

Police have charged a man after a woman was assaulted and the windows of her car were smashed with a hammer.

Carter Anderson, of Derby, has been charged with assault by beating, criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 May in connection with the incident in St Albans Road in Bulwell at around 9.40am on Thursday 6 May.

The 32-year-old was released on conditional bail ahead of a trial at the magistrates’ court on 29 October 2021.

Detective Constable Neil Hollinshead, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers acted swiftly in this case and have charged a suspect as part of our enquiries.

“Reports of violence are treated seriously by Nottinghamshire Police and we will always thoroughly investigate reports with a view to taking action against offenders while ensuring that victims are given proper support.”
