Woman dies after being found unconscious in a Nottingham street after road collision – man arrested

Officers and medics attended but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene short time later.

A man has been arrested in relation to a fatal road traffic collision.

Police were called to Newlands Road, Forest Town, to a report that a woman was unconscious in the street and damage had been caused to a garden fence.

Officers and medics attended but she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene short time later.

Attending officers at the scene searched the area and located a vehicle believed to have been involved.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and has subsequently been bailed pending further investigation he was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the incident, which is believed to have happened just before 10.10pm yesterday (Sunday 26 September 2021).

Sergeant Craig Luckett, from Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “We are working hard to determine the circumstances of this incident, where a woman who was a pedestrian tragically lost her life.

“Her family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time. We have deployed specialist trained officers to provide support and guidance through this tragic time. We are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage, CCTV, or information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident number 832 of 26 September 2021.”
