Woman injured in Nottingham firearms incident

An investigation has today been launched after a firearm was discharged.

Officers were called to an address in Heatherington Gardens, Top Valley, just after 2am, following reports of a shot being fired.

A 24 year old woman sustained minor injuries and is receiving treatment.

A police spokesperson said: “There will be a lot of activity in the area today as we work to establish what happened and find those responsible.

“Fortunately no one was seriously injured, but this could easily have had tragic consequences. Everyone has a right to feel safe in their homes.

“If anyone has any information about what happened or who was involved please call 101 quoting incident 78 of 13 January.”
