Police arrested a suspect after a woman was reportedly punched in the face and had some of her hair pulled out.
Officers were called to a disturbance within an address in Newark on Monday night (31 January 2022).
The victim, who suffered severe bruising, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following enquiries a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Detective Sergeant Dave Nicks, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This kind of violence is totally unacceptable.
:I’d like to reassure people that Nottinghamshire Police takes such reports extremely seriously and will always investigate, do everything in our power to safeguard victims and look to take robust action against those found to have committed such offences.”
