Woman pushed to ground in Nottingham handbag snatch

Police are questioning a suspect after a woman was pushed to the ground and had her handbag stolen.

An investigation was launched into the robbery, which happened during the early hours of Sunday 22 January 2023 in a block of flats in the Norton Street area of Radford.

Following inquiries, officers patrolling in the Hyson Green area arrested a suspect yesterday (Thursday 16 February) following a brief foot chase.

A 40-year-old man remains in custody after being detained on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Gregg, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While thankfully no reports were received of any injuries, this was a nasty robbery which would have been a frightening ordeal for the victim.

“As this arrest shows, we will investigate reports and do everything in our power to track down those suspected to have committed such despicable crimes and bring them to justice.”
