Woman ‘repeatedly punched’ on way home from Nottingham night out

Police are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked assault on a woman in Radford.
The victim, a woman in her twenties, was travelling home following a night out when she was approached by an unknown man.

He then repeatedly punch her in the face, which left her with bruising.

The incident happened between Lawson Street and Forest Road West on 9 December at around 4 am.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who was in the surrounding area and saw what happened, and who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage, to get in touch.

PC Kitty Clarke, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a nasty assault that left a young woman very shaken up.

“Thankfully she was not seriously hurt but this was a horrendous incident for her to endure.

“We are determined to get to the bottom of what happened here and would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward.

“I would also encourage anyone who was in area of the time of the incident with dash-cam or CCTV footage to get in touch.”
