A woman has been sentenced after officers found drugs hidden in her fireplace following a warrant.
Officers found a significant amount of cannabis, weighing scales and empty plastic bags after they executed a search at a woman’s home.
The drugs were located around the property, including in the bedroom and in a kitchen drawer. A quantity was also found concealed in a fireplace.
Rolled cigarettes which contained cannabis and small bags were also hidden.
A mobile phone was also seized and the resulting examination found numerous text messages which suggested the woman was actively supplying drugs from her home.
Lisa Hall, 33, of Netherfield pleaded guilty to possession of a class B drug cannabis and possession with intent to supply cannabis. She was given a 10-month sentence, suspended for 18 months at Nottingham Crown Court.
Police Constable Shajiat, of Nottinghamshire Police, led the investigation. He said: “We actively seek out drugs activity across the county and undertake a number of covert and overt methods in order to uncover anyone who may be involved in such criminality.
“Drug supply and production is a despicable act. It fuels all manner of crimes and preys on vulnerable people in our area and we won’t tolerate it on our doorstep.
