While en-route to the custody suite it’s alleged another officer was struck to the back of his head.

A 51-year-old woman from Harworth is charged with assault by beating and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

She was subsequently released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 2 March 2022.

Sergeant Lee Mulligan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Assaults on police officers and fellow emergency workers are treated very seriously by Nottinghamshire Police and will not be tolerated.

They should not have to suffer violence at any time as they serve the public and, as the force has repeatedly shown, swift and appropriate action will be taken against anyone who commits offences of this nature.”
