Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was confronted in her own bedroom by a burglar.
Officers were called to an address in Kirkdale Road, Bakersfield, shortly after 4.45am this morning (Saturday) when the break-in was reported.
The victim, a woman in her seventies, was pushed by the intruder as he fled the scene carrying jewellery and cash.
One man was seen by the victim but detectives believe others may have been involved.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses. They would especially like to speak to people in the local area with CCTV footage recorded at around the time of the break-in.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully the victim was unhurt, but she is understandably shaken and upset by what happened.
“This was an appalling crime and I am absolutely determined to bring whoever was responsible to justice.
“Extensive investigations have already been carried out at the scene and several neighbours have also been spoken to.
“I am also requesting help from members of the public who may have seen or heard something suspicious before or after this incident.
“It could be that you live in the area and noticed a suspicious figure near your property in the early hours of this morning. You may also have CCTV footage of the area that could yield a significant clue.
“Alternatively, you may have noticed someone you know acting suspiciously, or you may have already been approached with an offer to buy jewellery.
“Either way we urgently want to hear from you. What you tell us – no matter how insignificant it may seem – may provide the vital bit of evidence we need to get justice for this victim.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 108 of 22 October 2022.
