Controlled explosion carried out after WW2 grenade found in Notts

A controlled explosion has been carried out in Clipstone following the discovery of a suspected World War II grenade.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 7pm today (18 July) after the device was spotted by walkers in woodland close to Braemar Road in Clipstone.

A specialist bomb disposal unit attended and a controlled explosion was carried out just after 9.30pm.

No evacuations were required.
