Police in Rushcliffe are appealing for information.
A spokesperson for the local neighbourhood policing team said:
‘Officer have had reports of groups of youths going around throwing baked beans at people’s properties.
‘This may seem to be a fun trend to be videoed and to go on social media but please stop and think what affect your actions could have on people.
‘In this case an elderly lady who was too scared to go out and see what was happening is worry whilst in her own home she also now has a mess to be clearing up.
‘We have approached all the local shops about bake bean sales and will be contacting the local schools to get a message across to the children that this is unacceptable and could have serious consequences.
‘If people have any ring doorbell or CCTV footage of this group please get in touch as we would like to identify them and deal with them accordingly.
‘Any information can be passed via 101 on incident 0478_10102021.’
