Police arrested two teenagers and recovered a knife as officers responded to reports of an attempted robbery in Nottingham.
Officers were made aware of two youths riding around on bikes who were allegedly trying to steal mobile phones from people in Midland Way, Radford, Nottingham at around 10.15pm yesterday (Friday 11 March 2022).
They quickly arrived at the scene and spotted two suspects who rode off as they tried to get away.
One of them fell off his bike and ran off, but one of the officers grabbed hold of his jacket.
The officer was kicked on her leg, causing pain, and fell to ground as he continued to struggle to get away but she wouldn’t let go.
He was detained after a colleague came to her aid.
The officer also received minor injuries to her knees while dealing with the suspect.
Soon after, the other suspect was also arrested after an officer chased after him on foot. A knife was found after he was searched.
A 15-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a knife in a public place and another 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery, assault with intent to resist arrest and going equipped for burglary.
