17-year-old boy stabbed in the back in Arnold incident

Police have arrested a suspect after reports a teenager suffered a stab wound during an altercation.

Investigators are continuing with their inquiries after it was reported a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the back during an incident which happened in Willbert Road, Arnold, at around 9.15 pm yesterday (Friday 14 June 2024).

The teenager was taken to hospital. His injury is not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Officers quickly attended the incident and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

As part of their inquiries, officers have arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection with the assault. He has been detained on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Detective Sergeant Nathan Bingham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I would like to reassure members of the public that we are treating this as an isolated incident and reassurance patrols have been increased in the area as we continue to establish the facts of what happened.

“Our inquiries are ongoing to trace an outstanding suspect in connection with this incident and officers remain in the area to provide reassurance to the public.”
