A police raid discovered the drugs being grown in the property.
Kirkby in Ashfield Beat Team executed a warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act at a residential property in Nuncargate. Two hundred cannabis plants were seized from the property.
Police said:
‘The intelligence was proven to be accurate, as four rooms of the property had been adapted for cannabis production.
‘A suspect was found within the property, a 19-year-old male who was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. This male has now been charged and remanded into prison.
‘Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), as well as Nottinghamshire Police as a whole, make these cannabis productions a priority.
‘This is not only due to the Class B substances they produce but also due to the nature of how these grows are set up.
‘They pose a significant fire risk, which could lead to the loss of an innocent bystander’s home or, worse, their life.
‘If anyone has any information regarding drug-related incidents, please call 101 or report it through the Nottinghamshire Police website.’
