£220,000 cannabis factory found in Nottingham property

A man has been put before the courts after police uncovered a cannabis grow.

Officers from the Radford Road neighbourhood policing team attended Patterson Road, Hyson Green on Friday (9 May) around 9am.

After entering the property, they discovered 221 cannabis plants growing across three rooms.

Au Hai Tran, of no fixed address, was charged with the production of the Class B drug.

The 33-year-old appeared in Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 10 May and was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 30 May.

Sergeant Karl Browne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Cannabis production is often linked to serious violence and antisocial behaviour, putting our wider communities at risk. 

“We are working every day to disrupt drug activity and urge anyone with information to contact the police on 101, or report it anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
