A52 Clifton Bridge: First of several overnight closures are now in place

Highways England have put the first closure in place.

A spokesperson said in a Twitter update at 8:41 pm on 2 March:

‘Planned closure of A52 eastbound between A453 QueensDrive and A60 Nottingham Knight from 2 March.’

‘From 02/03/20 there will be a number of overnight closures of the bridge while we change the layout to allow us to open another lane eastbound whilst we continue to work underneath the road. We will continue to post live closures when in place.’

unnamed — Highways England currently has one lane open on Clifton Bridge and will start work tonight to swap traffic onto the former inbound lane of the bridge to help ease congestion.

unnamed 1 — Once work has been completed to reconfigure the A52 on the approach to the bridge, Highways England will reopen another lane for Monday 15 March.
