M1 southbound severe delays J22 – accident

An accident between a lorry and a car is causing delays on the M1.

All recovery work is now complete and all lanes have been reopened . Traffic is now clearing, Many thanks for your patience whilst this collision was cleared.

AA Roadwatch reports:

‘One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved on M1 Southbound from J22 A50 (Coalville / Ashby-De-La-Zouch) to J21 M69 (Leicester).

‘Around quarter of a mile after Leicester Forest East services.’

‘M1 Southbound J21A to J21 Leicester Forest East services – we have 2 lanes closed for an RTC. Police and EMAS on scene.’
