The motorway has been closed northbound at junction 23.
National Highways said:
The M1 northbound at J23 (A512 Loughborough Shepshed) traffic has been temporarily STOPPED due to a lorry fire.
‘Traffic Officers are currently at scene,
‘Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are on the way to the area to assist.’
