Police in Newark launch an investigation after personal items were stolen from a cemetery.
Police said:
‘The Nottinghamshire Police Balderton beat team are deeply saddened to say we are currently investigating a report of theft from Balderton Cemetery.
‘We understand families will be incredibly upset by the incident but we ask that you allow us to ensure the matter is dealt with appropriately.
‘As part of our investigation we have recovered several items and would very much like to return them to their rightful homes.
‘We have reviewed our incidents and do not seem to have received any reports in regards to theft in this area.
‘If you have had any item disappear from a loved ones resting place within Balderton Cemetery please email Katherine.hewerdine@notts.police.uk with a description of the item.’
