Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak with following reports an individual falsely claimed to be a police officer at a petrol station.
The incident happened at Cromwell Service Station at Great North Road, Newark, on Wednesday 23 July.
At approximately 9.50am, a man reportedly falsely identified himself as a police officer to a cashier.
The unknown individual then allegedly took a bottle of oil from the shop and left without making payment.
Officers investigating the incident are now in a position to release a photo of someone they believe could assist them with their inquiries.

PC Simon Pinnington, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We treat this type of behaviour with the upmost seriousness and are doing everything we can to trace the offender.
“As part of ongoing inquiries including reviewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses, we are urging anyone who recognises the person in this image to come forward.”
Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to get in touch by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting crime number 25*446750, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
