Children enjoyed the chance to climb inside a real police car when Worksop officers visited a local nursery.
Youngsters from Luan’s Little People Day Nursey had lots of fun and also gained valuable insight into policing with the Worksop North neighbourhood team.
From trying on officers’ uniform and seeing the blue lights in action, the fascinated toddlers were treated to a number of experiences during the visit on Thursday 30 October.
They also learned about the role of a police officer and the important work they do to keep the community safe.

Sergeant Mark Talbot, of the Worksop North neighbourhood policing team, said:
“Doing engagement work like this within local nurseries and schools is a key part of what we do in neighbourhood policing.
“These drop-ins provide us with vital opportunities to engage with young people early on and encourage positive relationships between the police and next generation.
“We’ve had some brilliant feedback from staff about how much the little ones enjoyed the hands-on experience.
“I’d like to pass on our thanks to Luan’s Little People Day Nursery who invited us along for the visit.”
Emma, the nursery’s manager, said:
“We would like to say a big thank you to the Worksop North team for taking the time to visit our nursery and spend the morning with our children. The children absolutely loved meeting the officers and learning about the important role the police play in keeping everyone safe.
“The visit was a fantastic experience for our 2 – 4-year-olds. It helped them build positive relationships with our local community and understand that the police are friendly and here to help. The children were especially excited to explore the police car and listen to the sirens — it truly sparked their curiosity and imagination!
“We really appreciated the team’s kindness, patience, and the time spent answering the children’s many questions. Visits like this are so beneficial in supporting their early understanding of people who help us and the world around them.
“Thank you again for such an engaging and memorable visit — we hope to welcome Nottinghamshire Police back soon!”
