Early morning
Wednesday will start cold and dry, with a mix of cloud and occasional clearer spells around dawn. Temperatures in the early hours will be low, generally between 1 and 4°C, and it may feel chilly where skies are clearer. Winds will be moderate from the east-north-east, adding a slight bite to the air, but there is very little chance of any rain during the morning commute.

Midday
Through the late morning and into midday, conditions will become a little brighter, with sunny intervals breaking through the cloud at times. Temperatures will slowly rise to around 5 or 6°C by lunchtime. Winds will remain from the east or north-east and will be moderate, with gusts approaching 20 to 25mph in more exposed locations. The weather will stay dry, with good visibility.

Afternoon
The afternoon will see increasing cloud cover after earlier brighter spells. Temperatures will peak at around 6°C, feeling cool due to the steady easterly breeze. Conditions will remain dry throughout the afternoon, with no significant weather hazards expected, although the cloud will give a more wintry feel as daylight fades.

Evening
During the evening, skies will stay mostly cloudy and dry. Temperatures will gradually fall back towards 5°C early in the evening and closer to 1 or 2°C later at night. Winds will continue from the north-east and remain moderate, keeping a cold feel to the evening despite dry conditions.
