West Bridgford shop reopens to support care for 1 in 4 local people at end of life

Nottinghamshire Hospice has reopened its West Bridgford charity shop, unveiling a brighter, larger space designed to bring more choice to shoppers and more support to local families.

Located at 6 Gordon Road the refreshed shop features an improved layout, new signage, and increased shelving space, creating a more welcoming experience for customers and donors alike.

The refurbishment allows the shop to offer an even wider range of quality pre-loved items, from fashion and accessories to homeware and books – all helping to fund the Hospice’s vital care services across Nottinghamshire, where it supports 1 in 4 people at the end of life.

“In Nottinghamshire, we care for 1 in 4 people at the end of life, and 96% of our patients are able to die at home, which is where most people say they want to be.

“What many people don’t realise is that this care is only possible thanks to the support of our community. Shops like West Bridgford play a huge part in making that happen.”

“Our shops play a vital role in funding our care, and this refurbishment allows us to offer an even better experience for our customers and supporters. Every item donated and every purchase made helps us continue to provide free, compassionate care to people across Nottinghamshire when they need it most.”

Mark Robinson, Manager of the West Bridgford shop, added:

“It’s been fantastic to see the transformation of the shop over the past few weeks. We’ve created a space that feels more open, more inviting, and full of great finds.

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new customers through the door. Whether you’re shopping, donating, or just popping in for a browse, you’re helping to support local families.”

The Hospice is encouraging local people to continue supporting the shop by donating quality pre-loved items, helping to keep shelves full and essential care services funded.
With more space now available in-store, donations of clothing, accessories, homeware, and books are especially welcome.
