Police officers recovered a stolen motorbike and arrested a suspect.
Response officers were patrolling High Hoe Road, Worksop, in the early hours of Tuesday (31 March).
A parked red motorcycle previously reported stolen at that point caught their eye in the area, so they stopped to investigate further.
Two individuals were then spotted nearby and took off on foot.
This prompted police to carry out a widespread search of the surrounding area.
A suspect was soon detained, and a subsequent search found a balaclava and gloves in his possession.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
He’s been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Inspector Dale Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a great piece of reactive police work, with these efforts resulting in both an arrest and a stolen motorcycle being recovered.
“We understand how distressing it can be for people to have their vehicles stolen and we will continue to thoroughly investigate all types of vehicle crime.
“Our inquiries remain ongoing into exactly what happened, so I’d encourage anyone who has any information to call the police on 101, quoting incident 66 of 31 March 2026, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 11.”
