A pet chameleon was rescued by firefighters after a bedroom fire at a house in Loughborough.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said Loughborough White Watch attended the incident on Wednesday afternoon, after a fire broke out in a bedroom.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and the fire was quickly brought under control using a hose reel jet.
During the incident, crews rescued a pet chameleon, which was safely returned to its owner.
The fire service said smoke alarms played an important role in raising the alarm, alerting neighbours and helping ensure a quick emergency response.

The incident has prompted a reminder for residents to make sure smoke alarms are fitted, tested regularly and kept in good working order.
Working smoke alarms can give people vital time to escape in the event of a fire and can also alert neighbours or passers-by when nobody is immediately aware of the danger.
