A 59-year-old man has been charged following an investigation into a serious sexual assault near services on the southbound M1.
Tadeusz Podlasinski was arrested by police on Tuesday (28 April). He has been charged with one count of attempted rape and one count of intentional strangulation.
The charges relate to an incident that occurred in Baines Lane in Leicester Forest East on Saturday (25 April).
Podlasinski, of Wojska Polskiego in Nowa Wieś Wielka, Poland, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 30 April).
