Nottingham bus diversions announced for A52, Ruddington, Aspley and Arnold

Nottingham City Transport passengers are being advised to check journeys before travelling next week, with several services affected by roadworks, resurfacing schemes and overnight road closures across Nottingham and the wider area.

The disruption includes evening closures on the A52 Derby Road between the Priory and QMC roundabouts from Monday 18 May to Friday 22 May. The road will be closed in both directions between 8pm and 6am each night while continuing works take place. Orange 35, 35B and 36 services will be diverted via Clifton Boulevard, Beeston Road and University Boulevard, with changes affecting stops around Derby Road, University Park and Woodside Road. Passengers travelling towards the city from Woodside Road are advised to cross over to catch the diverted 35 or use Broadgate.

In Ruddington, resurfacing works on Easthorpe Street will affect Green 10 and 10C services from 9am on Monday 18 May until 3pm on Friday 22 May. Buses will be diverted via Easthorpe Street, the A60 Loughborough Road, Kirk Lane and High Street, with the diversion applying in both directions between Nottingham, Ruddington Green and Ruddington Business Park.

Turquoise 77 services will also be affected by resurfacing works on Aspley Lane between Monday 18 May and Friday 22 May. The diversion will operate towards Strelley only between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day, with buses using Western Boulevard, Beechdale Road and Strelley Road to reach Strelley ASDA. The Melbourne Road stop used by buses towards the city will also be closed during these times.

Further overnight works will affect Lime 59 services in the Arnold and Killisick area. Howbeck Road will be closed each night between Monday 18 May and Friday 29 May, from 8pm to 6am. Buses towards Killisick will divert from Rolleston Drive via Coppice Road, Beechwood Road and Killisick Road, with the same route used in reverse towards the city.

Brown 17 services will also be diverted because of overnight works at Carey Road Crossings. The works are due to take place from 11.30pm to 5am each night between Monday 18 May and Thursday 21 May. Buses will divert in both directions along Bestwood Road, Moor Bridge and Hucknall Lane, with all stops on the diversion route served on request.

Several longer-running disruptions remain in place and may also affect journeys next week. Lane closures at the bottom of Sherwood Rise, near Gregory Boulevard, are causing delays to Yellow 68, 68A, 69, 69A, 70, 70B, 71 and 71B services, particularly at peak times. NCT has warned that short-notice diversions towards the city may be necessary.

Other ongoing changes include the closure of King Street stops used by Lilac 24, 25, 25B, 26, 26A, 27 and N26 because of scaffolding. These buses are dropping off at Victoria Centre near the bottom of George Street and picking up from Victoria Centre stops V3 or V4 near Boots. Roadworks in Bramcote are also preventing Pink 30 services from serving stops on Rivergreen, Deddington Lane, Eastcote and Grangewood Road, with buses using Kevin Road, Humberston Road and Wollaton Vale in both directions.

Passengers using Turquoise 77C and 78 services are also reminded that the closure of Westleigh Road is due to remain in place until Friday 22 May while Severn Trent works continue. From Saturday 16 May, buses are due to follow revised diversions via Bradfield Road, Strelley Road, Moor Road, Helston Drive and Flamsteed Road, depending on direction and service.

NCT says passengers can get updates for favourite stops and services through its mobile app. Travellers are advised to allow extra time, particularly where services are affected by peak-time delays, stop closures or overnight diversions.
