Worksop man jailed for sex offences against young girl

A man has been jailed for more than ten years after sexually assaulting a young girl.

Damning medical and forensic evidence gathered in September of last year enabled officers to secure three charges against Asa Ord.

Ord, now aged 51, originally denied any wrongdoing in his police interview, but he eventually pleaded guilty to three counts of adult sexual activity with a child during an appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 12 February 2026.

Ord, previously of Worksop, was jailed for a total of ten years and two months when he appeared at the same court on Tuesday 19 May.

He was also added to the Sex Offenders’ Register, and given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for twenty years that will tightly restrict his activities once he is released from prison.

Detective Constable Dee Hawkins, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Ord committed a series of appalling offences against a child, and I am pleased he is now behind bars where he can no longer pose a threat to young people.

“I’d like to praise the bravery of the victim in speaking to us, and I hope this sentence provides her with some comfort.

“We take reports of such matters very seriously, and I’d encourage victims of sexual assaults to please report it to us.

“We will listen to you, we will investigate, and we will do everything we can to get justice for you.”
