A fire started after a barbecue was left unattended by a group of young people at a park in Clifton, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has warned.
Firefighters were called to Flower Park earlier this week after the group reportedly had a barbecue, left it unattended and ran off.
The fire then spread, creating a risk to the surrounding area and requiring emergency services to attend.
Crews also had to deal with a large amount of rubbish left behind at the scene. The waste has now been cleared and is due to be collected by Nottingham City Council.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was a reminder of how quickly fires can escalate, particularly during dry or warm weather and when open flames are left unattended in public spaces.

The warning comes during the half-term school holiday, with the service urging parents and carers to know where their children are, what they are doing, and to speak to them about the dangers and consequences of lighting fires.
The fire service said what may appear to be harmless behaviour can have serious consequences, including putting people, wildlife, green spaces and nearby property at risk.
Residents are also being asked to act responsibly when using parks and open spaces, take rubbish home and help keep Nottinghamshire safe.
