The sinkhole has been repaired by Severn Trent, but now Via East Midlands have to repair the road surface.
Temporary traffic lights will remain in place on Musters Road in West Bridgford while the carriageway is repaired following recent work to fix a collapsed sewer.
The restriction affects Musters Road between the junctions with Bridge Grove and Rushworth Avenue.
Severn Trent Water had been carrying out emergency works after a sinkhole appeared in the road. The sewer repair has now been completed, but the road surface still needs to be repaired before the restriction can be lifted.
Two-way temporary traffic signals are in use 24 hours a day, with traffic control also operating on Rushworth Avenue.
The works are now scheduled to remain in place until 4pm on Wednesday 17 June.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when travelling through the area.
