NCT to introduce £2 evening single bus fare across Nottingham network

Nottingham City Transport is introducing a new £2 evening single fare from Sunday 21 June.

The fare will be valid from 7pm every night until the last bus across the NCT network. It reduces the cost of a standard single fare from £3 to £2 during evening hours.

The ticket will be available to buy with cash, contactless payment and through the NCTX Buses app.

NCT says the fare is intended to encourage more evening bus travel, including journeys into the city centre and to events, hospitality venues and attractions.

Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Head of Marketing and Projects, said the fare would reduce the price of an evening journey by a third across the network.

He said: “A return journey by bus will cost just £4 after 7pm each and every night, offering a saving compared to buying an all-day ticket.

“Our forthcoming June changes reflect the drop in usage in some areas at night, and we hope this lower fares initiative will not only encourage more people to travel, but support the local economy too.”
