A long-running community playgroup in Wilford is to close after 50 years.
Wilford Village Playgroup has announced that its final day will be Thursday 23 July.
In a short statement, the playgroup said it was making the announcement “with heavy hearts” and thanked the families, volunteers and staff who have supported it over the decades.
The playgroup said: “It’s with heavy hearts, we are announcing the closure of Wilford Village Playgroup, our last day will be Thursday 23rd July.
“We are incredibly thankful to all our families past and present, volunteers and staff who have made Wilford Village Playgroup the heart of the community for 50 years.
“Thank you for being part of our story.”
The playgroup has also invited people to share their memories of the setting, which has served generations of families in the Wilford area.
Its closure marks the end of five decades of early years provision and community involvement in the village.
