Rushcliffe roadworks: Closures and traffic restrictions from 10 August

Motorists are being advised of a series of road closures, temporary traffic signals and other restrictions across Rushcliffe from Monday 10 August.

The works include resurfacing and carriageway repairs, utility projects and a year-long junction improvement scheme near East Bridgford.

Monday 10 August

Temporary closures and parking restrictions will be introduced on several roads in Rushcliffe as part of a programme of patching, microsurfacing, ironwork adjustments and lining.

The weather-dependent programme is scheduled to run until 20 November and covers:

  • Grantham Road, Long Acre and Nottingham Road in Bingham
  • Edwald Road, Vicarage Green, Hollies Drive, Endsleigh Gardens, Alford Road, Croft Road, Wellin Lane and Hallfields in Edwalton
  • Alford Road in West Bridgford
  • Carlton Crescent and Taft Leys Road in East Leake
  • Ambleside in Gamston

Exact closure dates will be displayed on signs at each location.

Elsewhere:

  • Wilford Lane, West Bridgford: Stop-and-go boards near Bede-ling from 09:30 until 12:30 on 10 August for loop detector repairs.
  • Fern Road, Cropwell Bishop: Two-way signals near Church Street from 08:00 until 15:00 daily on 10 and 11 August for carriageway repairs.
  • Bingham Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent: Two-way signals near Golf Road from 10 to 12 August while Severn Trent installs a pressure relief valve. The signals will operate only while crews are on site.
  • Nottingham Road, Fairham: Three-way signals at Fairham Way remain in place until 10 August for BT ducting work.
  • Shelford Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent: Two-way signals remain in operation until 16:00 on 11 August for burst-pipe repairs.
  • The Banks, Bingham: Multi-way signals remain in place around the clock at Fisher Lane until 16:00 on 12 August while a damaged sewage pipe is repaired.

Tuesday 11 August

Gotham Lane in Bunny will be closed along its entire length between 07:30 and 19:00 daily from 11 to 17 August for surface dressing.

The diversion will follow the A60, Main Street in Costock, Leake Road, Costock Road and Main Street in East Leake, Gotham Road and Bunny Lane.

Other restrictions include:

  • Loughborough Road, Rempstone: Stop-and-go boards near Kings Brook Close from 09:30 until 13:00.
  • Station Road, Elton: Two-way signals near the A52 from 09:30 until 15:30.
  • Tollerton Lane, Tollerton: Two-way signals near Cotgrave Lane from 08:00 until 16:00.

Wednesday 12 August

The A60 Loughborough Road at Costock will be closed between the A6006 and Leake Road from 12 to 18 August.

The closure will operate between 07:30 and 19:00 daily for surface dressing, with traffic diverted via the A60, A52, A606, A46 and A6006.

There will also be:

  • Wilford Lane, West Bridgford: Two-way signals near Gresham Close from 09:30 until 14:30.
  • Bingham Road, Cotgrave: Three-way signals at Hollygate Lane, Colston Gate and The Old Park from 12 to 14 August for telecoms duct repairs. The signals will operate around the clock, with manual control between 07:00 and 19:00.

Thursday 13 August

A separate closure of the A60 Loughborough Road at Rempstone is scheduled between the A6006 and the Leicestershire border from 13 to 19 August.

The closure will operate from 07:00 until 19:00 for preparation and patching ahead of surface dressing. Via East Midlands said it will not be imposed at the same time as the Costock closure.

Other works include:

  • Wysall Lane, Bunny: Rolling two-way signals from 08:00 until 15:30 daily between 13 and 17 August.
  • Langar Road, Barnstone: Two-way signals from 08:00 until 17:00 on 13 August.
  • Retford Road, Worksop: Stop-and-go boards southeast of Forest Rise from 08:00 until 15:30 on 13 and 20 August.

From Monday 17 August

A number of further schemes begin during the following week:

  • Hallfields, Edwalton: Rolling stop-and-go boards from 07:00 until 19:00 daily between 17 and 19 August.
  • Nottingham Road and Long Acre, Bingham: Rolling two-way and multi-way signals from 07:00 until 19:00 daily between 17 and 19 August.
  • Nottingham Road, Keyworth: Three-way signals at Bunny Lane around the clock between 17 and 19 August, with manual control during peak periods.
  • Nottingham Road, Fairham: Three-way signals at Fairham Way around the clock between 17 and 19 August for BT ducting work.
  • Chesterfield Road, Darfoulds; Mansfield Road, Worksop; and Worksop Road, Holbeck: Rolling two-way signals overnight from 20:00 until 06:00 between 17 and 20 August.
  • Leake Road, Gotham: A lane closure or rolling signals from 09:30 until 15:30 daily between 18 and 21 August.
  • Loughborough Road, West Bridgford: A lane closure north of Landmere Lane from 09:30 until 15:00 on 19 August for tree cutting.
  • Sutton Lane, Sutton-cum-Lound: Two-way signals at the level crossing from 01:35 until 05:10 on 19 August.
  • Tiln Lane, Retford: Two-way signals at Gerard Grove from 08:30 on 20 August until 16:00 on 21 August.
  • A620 Gainsborough Road, Bole: Two-way signals from 09:30 until 14:30 on 20 and 21 August for pothole repairs.
  • Ambleside, Gamston: Rolling two-way and multi-way signals from 07:00 until 19:00 daily between 21 and 25 August.

Longer-term works

Temporary signals will operate on Bridegate Lane in Hickling Pastures on 23 August, Kinoulton Lane in Kinoulton on 24 August, Melton Road at Stanton-on-the-Wolds from 24 to 28 August and Leake Lane at Stanford-on-Soar on 27 August.

Major junction improvement works are due to begin on 24 August at Kirk Hill in East Bridgford, East Bridgford Road in Newton and the A6097 Bypass Road.

Kirk Hill and East Bridgford Road are scheduled to remain closed until 24 August 2027, while temporary signals will be used on the A6097 when required.

Further restrictions announced for late August and September include:

  • Cropwell Butler Road, Cropwell Bishop: Multi-way signals from 31 August until 18 September for gas-main replacement work.
  • Ropsley Crescent, West Bridgford: A road closure from 31 August until 18 September as part of a wider Cadent gas project affecting roads around Trent Boulevard. The wider programme is scheduled to continue until 23 December.
  • Angrave Road and Roulstone Crescent, East Leake: Daytime closures from 1 September until 6 November for footway resurfacing.
  • Cotgrave Lane, Tollerton: A daytime closure from 3 to 9 September for surface dressing.
  • Station Road, Beckingham: An overnight closure at the level crossing from 23:00 on 5 September until 09:00 on 6 September for an inspection.

Dates may change because of weather or operational circumstances, and motorists should check signs displayed at each location before travelling.
