The former Lakeside wedding venue near Arnold is to reopen under a new name following its £2.64 million sale earlier this year.
The Grade II* listed former Victorian pumping station will now operate as Hawksley Tower, with viewing appointments available from Tuesday 1 September 2026.
Its new operator said the restored venue would offer exclusive use, civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests, in-house catering and a no-corkage arrangement for daytime drinks.
Couples will be able to hold ceremonies beneath the building’s campanile-style tower, while the grounds include landscaped gardens, an ornamental pond and heritage ironwork.
Hawksley Tower will form part of the Best Day Ever Venues group, which operates a collection of wedding venues. The company said its existing team would be responsible for weddings at the Nottinghamshire site.
The building, previously known as The Lakeside, had remained vacant and closed despite having been converted and restored by its former owner.
It was sold for £2.64 million in June to a subsidiary of Ensarb Ltd, a West Midlands-based group of independently owned wedding venues. The property had been placed on the market with a guide price of £2.5 million after joint fixed charge receivers appointed commercial property agents to handle the sale.
Built in 1873 for the Nottingham Waterworks Company, the Gothic Revival building was designed by Victorian engineer Thomas Hawksley. Its new name reflects the connection with the engineer, who was responsible for a number of water supply projects during the 19th century.
The former pumping station includes a restaurant, mezzanine areas, a bar and lounge, function space and a principal wedding suite capable of seating more than 150 guests. An outdoor terrace and a cottage providing on-site accommodation were also included in the property sold earlier this year.
Hawksley Tower is now accepting bookings for viewing appointments from 1 September. The operator has not announced the date of the first wedding or confirmed when the venue will begin hosting events.
