A60 Mansfield Road night closures for two weeks

The inbound A60 Mansfield Road in Nottingham will close overnight for reconstruction and resurfacing works from Monday 14 September.

The work will cover the stretch between Goose Fair Island and the junction with Mapperley Road and Forest Road East, with closures between 8pm and 6am.

No work will take place on the nights of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September. The scheme is expected to be completed by 6am on Friday 25 September.

The work is funded by the East Midlands Combined County Authority and delivered by Nottingham City Council.

During the closures, traffic will be diverted along Gregory Boulevard and Alfreton Road, then through the city centre via Upper Parliament Street, South Sherwood Street and Mansfield Road.

Outbound traffic will still be able to use Mansfield Road, although lane restrictions will be in place alongside the works area.

Buses travelling into the city will follow diversion routes. Stops FO07, FO08, FO09, FO10, J1 and G3 will not be served during the overnight closures. Outbound bus services will not be affected.

Access to St Andrew’s Road will be via Redcliffe Road and Thorncliffe Road during the closures.

The toucan crossing next to The Lodge at Forest Recreation Ground will be switched off throughout the works, with a temporary alternative crossing provided.

Transport Nottingham said the machinery would generate some noise, adding that efforts would be made to complete each phase as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise disruption.
