An affordable housing development providing 80 apartments for people aged 55 and over has been officially opened in Edwalton.
Blossom House, developed by not-for-profit housing and care provider Anchor, welcomed guests to a launch event on Friday 9 October after opening to residents earlier this year.
Half of the homes have already been occupied by local older people, according to Anchor.
The development comprises one and two-bedroom apartments, alongside a residents’ lounge, communal areas and landscaped gardens.

Representatives from Anchor, building partner Vistry, Homes England and Rushcliffe Borough Council attended the event, which also marked practical completion of the scheme. Guests were invited to view the apartments and shared facilities.
Patrick Duffy, Director of Land & Regeneration at Anchor, said: “The completion of Blossom House is a significant milestone for Anchor and our partners. We are proud to celebrate the creation of 80 much-needed affordable homes, which will enable more people to live well in later life.
“Working with our partners, we’ve already helped local older people move into half of the homes, making it particularly special to welcome those involved in delivering the scheme as we celebrated this milestone.”

Andy Reynolds, Managing Director for Vistry South East Midlands, said the development had been delivered through a partnership between Vistry, Anchor, Homes England and Rushcliffe Borough Council.
He said: “It is fantastic to celebrate the completion of Blossom House and see this important partnership reach its final milestone.”
