The roundabout and all routes are now open again.
National Highways said:
‘We’ve finished our improvements at the Gamston roundabout, which marks the completion of the second phase of the A52 Nottingham junctions improvement scheme.
‘We thank everyone for their patience while this important work has been taking place.
‘The Gamston roundabout opened for traffic on Tuesday 30 May 2023, following the installation of high-friction anti-skid surfacing which helps reduce stopping distance in adverse weather.
‘Our improvements have included widening all three approaches to the roundabout to create extra lanes in order to reduce congestion and queuing.
‘New traffic lights and a traffic-light-controlled pedestrian crossing have been installed to improve safety, and a dedicated bus lane has been added on the roundabout to improve the flow of public transport.
‘Our work has also extended to Nottinghamshire County Council’s maintenance depot, with a new traffic light-controlled system at the exit to allow safer movement of their vehicles, plus a new maintenance lay-by to improve safety for their maintenance workers.’
