National Highways, who are responsible for the A52 are beginning a project to upgrade the stretch between Priory Island and QMC Island.
The road surface is coming to the end of its serviceable life, so they will be resurfacing the road and improving drainage and lighting. They are also using this opportunity to add a combined cycleway and footway on the eastbound side of the A52.
From 19 – 30 May: Overnight closures of this stretch of the A52 nightly from 8pm- 6am, except Sunday nights
From 6am Monday 28 May for around four months: This stretch of the A52 will only be open eastbound (inbound to the city) – travel westbound (outbound from the city) will not be possible.
