Officers investigating the death of a 16-year-old boy in a crash are working to trace a potentially key witness.
The boy was riding an electric bike in Chilwell Lane, Bramcote, at 10.10am on Sunday 28 September when he was involved in a collision with two cars.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members continue to be supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for privacy.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains on police bail while investigations continue.
Investigators are now asking for the public’s help to trace a witness – a black male who was reported to have stopped at the scene but who has not yet spoken to officers.
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“We know this potentially key witness stopped at the scene but have so far been unable to trace him.
“I’d appeal directly to him to get in touch as we want to take his account.
“The boy’s family have been through a heartbreaking ordeal and we want to understand exactly what happened so we can answer their questions.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage or who saw the vehicles involved in the moments before the collision.”
