Detectives are appealing for dashcam footage following a fatal collision near Donington Park yesterday (Thursday 29 June).
It happened in Melbourne Road, close to the junction with Slade Lane, shortly before 5pm and involved a white Nissan MPV and a black KTM Duke motorcycle.
Both vehicles collided, before the motorcycle then struck a wall. The rider – a man in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He has since been released under investigation.
Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our investigation into this incident is continuing and I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision but has not yet contacted police.
“I am particularly keen to hear from any motorists with dashcams in their vehicle or anyone who saw either the car or motorcycle prior to the collision occur. Any information or footage you’re able to provide could help.”
