Two suspects tried to escape police by speeding off in a car and then running away on foot.
Response officers on patrol spotted a car in North Gate, New Basford, at around 8.05pm yesterday (Monday 6 September 2021).
They followed the car and due to the manner of driving put on their lights and sirens to try to get the driver to stop.
The car failed to stop and was being driven dangerously at speed before entering a dead-end in Breconshire Gardens, Old Basford, and hitting a lamp post.
The occupants got out and ran off.
After a brief foot chase two suspects were arrested nearby and taken into custody.
A 17-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Buxton, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “While we have made two arrests in connection with this incident, our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
“To help us with our investigation I would ask anyone who has any information or who may have recorded footage in the area to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible.”
