Appeal for witnesses after cyclist dies following collision with silver Audi S3

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Loughborough last night.

Officers were called shortly after 8pm yesterday (Friday 7 July) to a report of a collision in Ling Road.

On arriving at the location, a cyclist was seriously injured and despite the efforts of East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance, he died at the scene.

A silver Audi S3, which was also believed to have been involved in the collision, was reported to have left the scene. A vehicle matching this description was subsequently later found on fire in Frederick Street and has been recovered by police.

Following enquiries carried out a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a 40-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They all remain in police custody at this time.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, anyone with dashcam from the area at that time, or anyone who saw the silver Audi S3 before or following the collision.
