Appeal for witnesses after pedestrian killed on the M1 motorway earlier today

Officers are also appealing to anyone who was travelling on this stretch of the M1 to check their dash-cam footage.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of the M1.

At about 5.10am this morning (Wednesday, 25 August ), the Northants Police Force Control Room received a report that a pedestrian had been struck between junction 16 and 15a on the southbound carriageway of the M1 in Northamptonshire.

An investigation into the incident has been launched and as a matter of urgency, officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a pedestrian walking along the carriageway earlier today.

Officers are also appealing to anyone who was travelling on this stretch of the M1 to check their dash-cam footage to see whether they have unknowingly captured the incident.

Anyone with information or anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 30 of 25/08/21.
