Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a three-vehicle collision just off the M1 in Leicester on Monday 8 December.
The collision was reported at 6.20am on the slip road, just off junction 21 of the M1 northbound, and involved a white Mercedes E Class, a grey VW Passat and a black Audi S3.
The driver of the VW sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment in hospital, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The two occupants of the Mercedes and driver of the Audi were also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The two men in the Mercedes, both in their 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remain in police custody.
Leicestershire Police said:
‘Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw what happened on the slip road after the collision, did anyone approach your vehicle while you were waiting in the tailbacks?
‘We would also like to speak to anyone who may have recorded any footage on their dashcams.
‘Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 or report via www.leics.police.uk, quoting incident 100 of 8 December.’
