Emergency road closure in West Bridgford all week for gas leak repairs

A road in West Bridgford has been closed today (Monday 2 November) to allow emergency repairs to a gas leak.

Abbey Road is closed between its junctions with Radcliffe Road and Violet Road while Cadent Gas carries out work to locate and repair the leak.

The closure came into effect at 11.30am on Monday 2 November and is currently scheduled to remain in place until 6pm on Friday 6 November.

According to a road closure bulletin issued by Via East Midlands, the restriction will operate 24 hours a day throughout this period.

Motorists are advised to follow the signed diversion route while the work takes place.

The closure is expected to affect traffic using Abbey Road and surrounding residential streets, with drivers advised to allow extra time for journeys.

The road is scheduled to reopen on Friday evening, subject to completion of the repairs.
