A further suspect has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into a drugs drop at a prison.
A package containing cocaine and cannabis, as well as mobile phones and other items, was recovered from the grounds of HMP Ranby, near Retford.
The package had been dropped from a drone flown over the prison grounds on 15 April 2025.
Detectives have been carrying out extensive inquiries and a man was arrested in Merseyside in the early hours of Monday (29 December).
The 36-year-old was arrested on suspicion of conveying prohibited items into a prison.
Three other men, aged 33, 46 and 55, have previously been arrested on suspicion of the same offence in relation to the incident.
Detective Sergeant Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Officers from teams across the force are working hard alongside prison staff to prevent drone drops and other incursions into prisons in Nottinghamshire.
“This investigation and arrest is another example of our ongoing efforts, highlighting teamwork between policing teams and prison authorities.
“Smuggling drugs and other items into a prison is a serious offence because it can cause a host of problems and dangers for both inmates and staff.”
