Bingham: Three homes raided in drug dealing crackdown

Neighbourhood police have continued to crack down on drug dealing in Bingham after seizing large amounts of cocaine and heroin during coordinated raids.

Officers arrested three suspects when they executed warrants at three homes in Bishops Road around 11am on Wednesday (10 July).

They found Class A drugs, as well as cannabis, weighing scales and deal bags, after gaining entry to one of the properties.

A man and a woman, both aged 29, were detained inside the address and a 19-year-old man was held after he was found inside another property.

All three were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Officers from Rushcliffe South neighbourhood policing team also seized three electric bikes and an electric scooter, and further arrested the 19-year-old on suspicion of driving without a licence or insurance.

Inspector Tim Cuthbert, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said:

“Whenever confronted with evidence of drug-related crime in our communities we always investigate and take appropriate action.

“Class A drugs are a scourge on neighbourhoods across the country so it is always good news when we can take positive steps like this to seize and destroy these substances.

“We know arrests can also disrupt the illegal trade and interrupt the supply of drugs to vulnerable people.

“Neighbourhood officers want to do our bit to ensure Bingham remains a safe place which people want to live in, work in and visit.

“We won’t allow the small number of people involved in drug supply and other criminality to impact on these efforts.

“I’d like to commend my officers for their ongoing work into this investigation, which has involved analysing intelligence and carrying out meticulous searches as well as reassuring the wider community.

“If you have any information about drug dealing in your neighbourhood, please get in touch.

“It could be an important detail which allows us to take positive action as we have done in Bingham.”
