A new coffee shop, ROK Coffee, is planning to open its doors this May.
Local building company O’Keeffe Building Services owns the property at 87–89 Melton Road and is currently transforming the site.
The building houses O’Keeffe’s offices and Dr Andrea Brearley Facial Aesthetics at No. 87, while the coffee shop will occupy No. 89. Dr Brearley’s practice will remain unaffected by the redevelopment and has expansion plans too.

In addition to the coffee shop, plans include converting the first floor into an HMO (House in Multiple Occupation), potentially offering accommodation for students or young professionals. Currently, two of the rooms are used as O’Keeffe’s offices, and another remains vacant.
O’Keeffe Building Services boss Russell O’Keeffe, owner of the building and namesake behind ROK Coffee, told The Wire:
“The plans are to open a modern coffee shop on Melton Road, and it’s something I think people will really enjoy.
“We already have a manager in place who will start very soon. We have received excellent support from 200 Degrees Coffee and will be using their beans, along with pastries and cakes from local suppliers.

“Work is also underway to transform the front garden into a landscaped area with a private wall to screen from traffic as much as possible.”
He added that the coffee shop will seat 30 patrons indoors, with an additional 25 seats available in the garden area.
The new venture is set to open in May 2025.
