Bulwell Town Centre: A day of public engagement with City North Police after tram murder

The Nottinghamshire Police City North neighborhood police team dedicated a day to public engagement in Bulwell.

The officers and PCSOs were in the heart of Bulwell town on Wednesday, June 28, mingling with local market vendors.

Throughout the day, the team was approached by community members seeking assistance with issues such as antisocial behavior and speeding concerns.

The recent tragic murder of a man on a tram also led to requests for reassurance from the public.

The officers spent the day distributing leaflets, giving away complimentary items, and engaging in casual conversations.

This initiative is the first of many planned for the upcoming months in the local market.

Sergeant Jerone Taylor from the Bulwell division of Nottinghamshire Police emphasised the importance of these engagement days.

He said: “Being accessible to the public, spending time in conversation with our community members, and providing them with advice and guidance is crucial to ensure they feel acknowledged and aware of our presence.”

He further stressed the significance of such initiatives, especially in the wake of the recent tragic incident on Monday, June 26, when a man lost his life on a tram near Highbury Vale.

Taylor added: “As police officers, we are here for our communities. If you need a chat or any advice, please feel free to approach us. We are always ready to assist in the best way possible.”
