Burst water main near Beeston college affecting tram services and closing roads

The issue is causing problems for transport through the area.

Severn Trent said:

‘We’re really sorry if you’re still experiencing supply interruptions.

‘We’re aware that the cause of this is due to third-party damage to our network of water pipes on Tamworth Road.

‘With the support of the local council, we’ve put traffic management measures in place to keep everyone safe.

To ensure as many customers as possible remain on supply and we are currently moving water around our network. This may cause lower pressure than normal. However, this is nothing to worry about.

Nottingham City Transport said:

‘Due to a burst water main in Beeston, Orange 36 is diverting in both directions via Meadow Lane, Queen’s Road and Station Road.

‘Stops on High Road cannot be served including; Collin Street, Ellis Grove, Wilmot Lane, Bridge Avenue & Cator Lane.’

NET said:

‘Due to a burst water main, we are unable to run trams between Beeston and Cator Lane. NCT Orange line buses are accepting tram tickets and passes.

‘Trams are still running between Toton and Cator Lane but may not be showing on the displays. We will keep you posted with any updates.’

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

‘We are currently in the area of the college campus in Beeston due to a burst water main. High Road has been closed and trams in the area have been stopped.

‘Severn Trent is working to resolve this.’
